Special Education Conference 2026 Special Education Conference 2026

Date: November 12-13, 2026
Location: Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, Wisconsin Dells, WI

Overview

Join hundreds of your colleagues from around the state and Midwest to learn, relax, network, and gather new ideas and resources at our 14th Annual Special Education Conference at the Kalahari.

We have a great keynote speaker in Devin Siebold scheduled for Thursday and Katie Berg and her team will be providing an educationally informative workshop on Friday afternoon.

Devin will bring some long overdue laughter and infectious positivity to those traditionally dull and uninformed keynotes and professional developments in schools. Teachers may recognize Devin as the hilarious comedian from Tik Tok, Youtube, and Facebook, including headlining the popular Bored Teachers National Comedy Tour, and administrators have come to know him as the "best speaker we've had in all my 30 years." Devin delivers the non-stop laughs, and shows teachers how laughter can not only change their mindset, but also the mindset of those around them. He discusses building classroom community around humor, the science of healing and mental-wellness through laughter, and even gives a powerful lesson on conquering negativity. Over a decade of award winning, clean stand-up comedy experience along with 13 years as a highly effective teacher in Title I schools, combine to create a relatable, real, and ridiculously funny experience the faculty won't forget. THIS is the speaker the teachers need and deserve, delivering the enduring keynote that all the admin and conferences rave about.

Katie has been supporting students for more than 20 years. In the private sector, public education and now statewide her experiences include providing one on one therapy, classroom teaching, administration, technical assistance, coaching and district and statewide training. Katie has extensive experience working with unique neurodiverse learners focusing on the Social Emotional Learning skills that help students and educators problem solve around behaviors that are challenging. She is currently supporting the districts across the state, upon request, providing support to educators serving students with needs in the area of social and emotional learning using evidenced-informed improvement strategies. Using tools such as the Coaching Competency Practice Profile and adult learning standards Katie is helping WI school districts use effective methods of professional learning to grow adult capacity in disability-related need areas under the Social and Emotional Learning Competencies.

We will start accepting proposals (reduced registration fee) now and will open registrations in April.
